Function: Martin Luther King Jr. is an advocate for embodyity. He believes everyone is equal no matter what your skin color is, what your ethnicity is, or anything of the kind. He employs a hortative sentence in his pitch to rationalise to the audience that he needs their help in making his dream come true. King is a skipper verbalizer who knows how to take control over an audience. He uses, in his speech, a hortative sentence. This is designed to cause the audience to leap out to action regarding th e subject. His dream is for freedom, for equality, for a world without racism. He can non do it alone and by using a hortative sentence, he tells the audience that they have to participate in this change in society. But he assures them that through his speech and their actions, it will be safe to go back, and that you will be treated as a chum from another mother. It is important to Dr. King that he engages the audience. Without doing so, they may placed up bored or tired.
